I. Overall operation of industrial enterprises above designated size


In March 2019, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 8.5% year-on-year (the growth rate of the added value is the actual growth rate after deducting the price factor), which is 3.2 percentage points faster than that in January and February. From a ring comparison, in March, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 1% from the previous month. In the first quarter, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 6.5% year-on-year.


1. In January-March, industrial enterprises above designated size achieved operating income of 24.4 trillion yuan, up 7.2% year-on-year; operating costs were 20.6 trillion yuan, up 7.7%; operating profit margin was 5.31%, down 0.58 percentage points year-on-year.


2. In the first three months of this year, the total profits of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 1.29 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.3%. The decline was 10.7 percentage points narrower than in January and February.


3. At the end of March, the receivables and receivables of industrial enterprises above designated size were 15.9 trillion yuan, up 6.5% year-on-year; the finished goods inventory was 3.92 trillion yuan, up 0.3%.

Second, the production and operation of the refractory industry in January-March 2019


1. Manufacture of refractory materials


From January to March, the same calibre was compared with the national refractory output of 4,209,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.53%. Among them, densely shaped refractory products were 2.672 million tons, down 10.29% year-on-year; thermal insulation refractory products were 88,400 tons, down 29.22% year-on-year; unshaped refractory products were 1,448,500 tons, down 12.42% year-on-year.


2. Import and export trade of refractory raw materials


From January to March, the total import and export trade of refractory raw materials nationwide was US$1.01 billion, a decrease of 6.71% over the same period of the previous year. The export trade volume was US$910 million, a decrease of 7.75% year-on-year; the import trade volume was US$91 million, a year-on-year increase of 5.06%.


The total export of refractory raw materials nationwide was 1,432,200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.71%. The export volume of refractory raw materials was 1,032,300 tons, down 4.51% year-on-year; the export volume of refractory products was 399,700 tons, down 1.58% year-on-year.

Third, the production and operation of major downstream industries


(1) Operation of the steel industry


1. Production and operation of China's steel industry


From January to March, the country's crude steel output was 231 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.92%; steel output was 269 million tons, an increase of 10.82%.


2. Production situation of the world steel industry


In the first quarter, the output of crude steel in 66 major steel producing countries and regions was 444 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%;


Mainland China accounts for 52.03% of global crude steel production.


(II) Production and operation of building materials industry


In the first quarter, the national cement output was 392 million tons, up 9.4% year-on-year, down 4.5% in the same period last year; flat glass output was 221.94 million weight boxes, up 6%, down 2.8% in the same period last year.


(3) Production and operation of non-ferrous metals industry


In the first quarter, the output of ten non-ferrous metals in the country was 13.7 million tons, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year, and the growth rate increased by 3.9 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, copper output was 2.05 million tons, up 8.8%, up 0.1 percentage point; electrolytic aluminum output was 8.57 million tons, up 3.9%, up 3.6 percentage points; lead output was 1.43 million tons, up 32.6%, up 21.5 percentage points; zinc production 1.31 million tons, down 5.1%, compared with a 1.7% increase in the same period last year. Alumina production was 18.25 million tons, up 11.1%, down 6.1% in the same period last year.
